Ahoy!!!
Land Ho!!!
The explorer models turned out great! We learned a lot about each of the explorers!
We are glad that they were curious enough to discover new land, riches and weren't afraid of a challenge!
GREAT WORK!!!

Explorer Juice
As Mrs. Pinar's class came in this morning for Social Studies, I was taking a last few sips of my Pomegranate Berry Smoothie I made this morning. They asked me what was in it and if it was good!
"It is delicious and good for you," I said.
I joked and said it was some sort of explorer juice. Then they wanted to name it after an explorer we were studying. So the name they came up with was:
Recipe:
1 cup berries (blueberries, raspberries, strawberries or blackberries or combo. of all - I have been using
the Triple Berry Blend from Schwan's)
1/4 cup pomegranate juice (I use Pom - it goes a long way)
1/4 cup water
1 banana - sliced
1 cup ice cubes
HINT: (If using frozen berries, add a bit more water)
Blend in blender
Makes enough for 2
ENJOY!!!

Explorer Project and Sample
Attached you will find a short video showing the Explorer Project.
Students will be given two days in the computer lab and one day in class to work on notecards this week. Finalizing notecards, if needed, and working on the model will be done at home.
Students will be supplied with the paper model and tagboard. If a student needs construction paper, he or she may borrow some.

Native American Presentation - Notecards
Below you will find a sample of what your notecards should look like and what you should have on them during your presentation. Remember, the key is to practice, practice, practice so you know your facts and can look at your audience.
I'm looking forward to your presentations!

T'was the Day Before Deer Day......
and all through the school,
Teachers were learning
the Curriculum Crafter Tool!
Ah, yes, while you young'ins are out enjoying the beautiful day, the teachers are learning and working on some new things via technology!
Can't wait to test something things out in the classroom!
We are going to have two short weeks coming up so we are going to have to stuff a lot in those days we do have! Speaking of stuffing......I can smell the Thanksgiving goodness now!!!
We are getting a new student on Wednesday! Please make her feel welcome by showing her classroom routines, around the school, lunchroom and playground!
Enjoy Deer Day!
Be a "dear" - help out around the house and don't forget about your Native American project!!!
